So, blogspot was having some issues yesterday and I couldn't post. So there's two outfit posts today!

This is what I wore Monday to go look at scooters with my friend Kirsten. I think I'm going to buy a Honda Metropolitan!

Romper: Vintage, taken from my mom. The label says 'Country Miss'. Awesome.
Shoes: Secondhand Keds. They're sparkly!

...and this is what I wore to go to work today for a customer services meeting:

Cardigan: Vintage. It has all this great lacework that you can't really see because of the lighting. It's falling apart, so I don't wear it as much as I used to.
Tank top: Gabriel Brothers
Shorts: GO Target, on sale! The belt came with them.
Shoes: Urban Outfitters, on sale.
Earrings: Secondhand

blackbird on the telephone wire...

I'm the hostess at a 4-star restaurant in downtown Cincinnati, so I have to dress up for work. Every. Day.  Usually, I just slip on one of my shift dresses and some heels and run out the door, but today I wanted to try something a little different.  So I grabbed a vintage top that was a present from my dad ages ago, and a Gap skirt I got last summer. Combine that with a cute belt and shoes, and viola!  Work time.  Now, if only I could be so assured that the gay men that I work with would approve...

I asked my cat, Mrs. Mia Wallace, what she thought, but all I got was this:

It's probably the same expression the maitre d' will have when I walk in the door today.

Lazy Day

I spent the better part of today out in my SkyChair reading a collection of Truman Capote's short stories and smoking the occasional Djarum.  I know, it's awful. They're just so good once in a while!

Also, this is what I wore on my day off work yesterday to go hang out with my mom in Anderson. If we're being honest, I switched the heels for sandals a little later. I have to wear heels to work every day, so I leave them off every chance I get.

I should also mention that this is my first foray into 'leggings-as-pants' territory, which I am usually firmly against. But I'm trying to not be such a negative Nancy, and I have to say that it was quite comfortable. They're the kind of leggings I like, almost venturing into stretchpants: very opaque, not like tights at all. I'm still of the opinion, however, that jeans are on the planet for a reason.
